Eli and Lulu

It’s been a while since Mr. Jules and I got on a plane together without one, two or three kids in tow.  It’s not so easy to get out of mummy mode but I refrained from cutting up his Swiss Air Chicken (I’m curious to see what THAT animal looked like when it was running around the farm yard).  I felt oddly bereft without my brood and interrupted him a lot while he was listening to his ipod which I have to work on.

We are in New York to celebrate the arrival of Eli and Lulu our niece and nephew.  On Sunday there will be a Bris ceremony where the infant boy will be marked forever on his generative organ – a sign which signifies the covenant between God and the Jewish people -and a naming ceremony for Lulu at their home on 27th street.  Mr. Jules, representing Switzerland, is likely to be the only male present not circumcised.  Embracing Obama’s call for change I suggested to Mr. Jules that he could approach the Mohle…

As you can see from the photographs* it was a beautiful, joyful ceremony.

What a fun and glorious weekend! I got to see the kids two weeks ago in NYC and they grew so much!
