In London for a few days on Sophie G’s half-term. Visited Tate Britain to see the Francis Bacon exhibition which is scary and sexy and visceral and the Turner Prize nominees. One exhibit was a video of a girl smashing china tea cups, another a Tracey Emin style installation of a selection of every day household objects which included a shop window dummy sitting crossed legged on a toilet and all I can recall of the other two, again video exhibits, was a large Homer Simpson character and some leaves floating.
On leaving the Turner Exhibit there is a large room covered with a cork board for comments. Almost everyone thought it was self-involved, depressing, sad. Best laugh we had all day was a large
