AND THE WINNER IS!!!

Well it was a tough one.  A shaky start with Martin’s jetlag taking over, then Nadia’s spell check not working, then … from Dorset.  Angus held the lead for a while but admitted it was an old joke and not of his own making so he couldn’t really win.

I have decided to award the prestigious Jules Ritter Award for Comic Writing to:

Nadia  (for second attempt)

And

Graham alias GHINCH (for the finest writing, especially last sentence first paragraph, second attempt)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I will be taking these two to lunch very soon.

Thanks to the Academy, my mother and Snowy, my faithful companion (1969-1980).

Oh come on, The only one that made me laugh out loud was Sally Philpott’s. You’ve just chosen your mates who you can take out to lunch! Good blog though. More of this please.

It wasn’t a second “attempt”. It was a variation on a theme. But I’m happy you liked it.

Off topic I know but thought this little gem from the US may amuse …..

Q. What’s the difference between a Wall Street Banker and a pigeon?

A. The pigeon can still make a deposit on a Ferrari.

TTFN.

Hello Bolton Bap, Sally Philpott is my sister and thus, in theory, couldn’t win. I’ve never met Nadia and am very much looking forward to our lunch. Pity you didn’t enter.

Seeing as it was a humorous blog, my comment was meant in the same tone. Sorry if I touched a nerve.
Maybe you could get Sally to guest blog from time to time or do a ’sisters’ post. From reading your article in ‘Red’ it sounds like you are quite different characters and could spark each other off. Here’s hoping………

Meanwhile, I lift my head from boxes and bits of furniture (in pieces, of course) for a well-earned break, and, delighted that at least my WiFi is up and running (as opposed to the rest of the house), tune into Jules… and Oh My God Graham’s brilliant piece that inspired me gets me lunch with Jules and him (and he? Grammar’s shaky there)!!

Thank you thank you Graham, and thank you Jules, and thank you Sally for being Jules’ sister so you couldn’t win, and thank you Diana for telling me that Ghinch was obviously Graham and thank you my English teacher in the 3rd grade for teaching me to write and thank you…

Sorry. Got carried away. Deep breath.

Wow! Lunch! Beats old pants and eggs any day(not yours, Martin, the survivor is still in the fridge, wonderful egg that one!). I am totally chuffed, and very much looking forward to having this celebratory lunch and meeting you at long last!

Nadia, There have been rumblings of who the hell is Justin?

Jumping around on cars? With Madge? Saving the world? In just 4 seconds?? Chanting Ma-doooo-nna!

No tickle of recognition? Anyone?

Mais bon sang bien sûre, it’s Justin Timberlake! Doesn’t anyone watch video clips any more?

Its not the winning for us its the taking part.
3 mature ladies, who are young at heart had great fun composing the piece from our office in darkest Dorset and we look forward to the next one.
Well done to Nadia and Graham. Enjoy your lunch with Jules.
Love to all fans. Hehe!
