Still There?

I’ve been ignoring you all.  I’ve been so busy!  Tuesday: Graham, my new best girlfriend whom I met through this site, drove me to have lunch with the French Mistress, Helena Frith Powell see www.helenafrithpowell.com who is staying in the Savoie for a few weeks before heading off to Abu Dhabi and becoming the Arabian Princess or some such thing for the Sunday Times (note to self contact ST and suggest you replace French Mistress as La Petite Suissesse).  It was a lovely day and Graham and I chatted all the way mainly about all the women he had met on the internet which is fascinating stuff and gives me a vicarious thrill.  HFP is lovely and a gracious hostess but boy does she like her beauty products!  I sense  we will be firm friends.  She even got out some Philosophy exfoliant she swears by – looked and smelt like lemon curd – and gave me a quick girly bonding session on the terrace with it.  Rupert, hubby, was also charming although was wearing what Graham discribed as a Tea Towel.  He was a cross between Ghandi and David Beckham in his sarong wearing days.  Strangely it worked.

Wednesday: I was on the radio!  Talk about moving out of one’s comfort zone.  I did manage to sleep the night before this time and it was a subject I am pretty much an expert on – How to Thrive and Survive in a Bi-Cultural Marriage having been married to Mr. Jules for 22 years next month – and according to Mr. Jules, who appears to be the only one of my friends and family who heard it – I was pretty good although I did do a lot of erring and ahhhing.  I explained that live radio is LIVE RADIO and thinking on your feet.  Talking of feet Helena gave me a great tip to combat nerves on radio or TV (she has been on Richard and Judy three or four times).  Scrunch up your toes and all the tension goes into them, I did that and I think it worked.

I came home to find that Red Magazine want me in the UK next week for a photo shoot, I felt my toes go into automatic scrunch mode.  All will be revealed in time.

Still here, hi Julie
I heard you on the radio and Neil did too on the way to….well somewhere he goes for work sometime. I loved it – ehms and ehrs were minimal and no one could hear the toe scrunching either. I’d love to hear you on the radio more, but would your sleep patterns cope? Photo shoot sounds very glam, will you be trying the tea towel?

Thank you! Please write to WRS and tell them that I don’t understand what’s holding them back (!) As for the photoshoot a tablecloth could be likely. It’s an interesting story but I can’t tell it until it has been published in the UK. I get hair and make-up! I get hair and make-up! Now just add dressing room to that sentence and I would be toe scrunching all the way to heaven. I am indeed a fickle lass.
